History of Grama Panchayat
Vadakkencherry is a Grama Panchayat located in the Alathur Taluk of Palakkad district, consisting of the Vadakkencherry-1 and Vadakkencherry-2 villages. Evolution: Originally ruled by the King of Palakkad (Palakkad Raja), the modern panchayat was created in 1960 by combining the individual panchayats of Vadakkencherry, Ayakkad, and Mangalam.
